Syria: Ten years since the Arab Spring

04/05/2021 @ 17:30 - 19:00

It has been over a decade since the start of the Syrian civil war, which has caused much destruction and displacement. The war is considered one of the worst humanitarian crises of the 21st century. Therefore, the BASIS Middle East Committee will be hosting an online panel discussion to help better understand the origins of this war, the different actors and issues involved in this conflict to finally have the ability to consider different perspectives for the future on this seemingly endless conflict.
Our speakers:
– Dr. Joseph Daher, lecturer at the Middle East Institute.
– Dr. Uğur Ümit Üngör, a specialist in comparative genocide studies and professor at the University of Amsterdam.
– Introduction by Dr. J.A. Naeff, a specialist in Middle Eastern cultures and literature, and lecturer at Leiden University.
Join us online on Tuesday, May 4th at 17.30!
