Guest lecture on Palestine: Ambassador Ammar Hijazi

The Academic Committee is excited to announce a guest lecture by The State of Palestine’s Head of the Multilateral Department and the Minister’s assistant on multilateral affairs, Ambassador Ammar Hijazi. The event will be held in Wijnhaven in room 3.60. Other attendees will be the Ambassador of Kuwait, Mr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Otaibi, the Ambassador of Pakistan, Shujjat Ali Rathore, Mrs Marina Lefosse from the Italian Embassy, the First Councellor of the Embassy of Tunisia, Ms Salma Nanous, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka, H.E. Mr A. M. J. Sadiq, and finally the Ambassador of Bangladesh, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Belal. The Ambassador of the state of Palestine, Mrs Rawan Sulaima, will also be attending the event.

Hijazi will talk on the State of Palestine’s Chairmanship of the G77 plus China at the United Nations, reflect on 6 months of their presidency, and talk about the challenges and what the chairmanship means for the State of Palestine. Furthermore, he will open for questions at the end of his lecture, and can answer any questions about developments on the ground, their case at the ICC, and other current events involving the state.
