🇨🇱🎥 Want to learn more about the power of media and its impact on politics? On December 2nd, join BASIS Latin American committee for a screening of ‘No’ (2012), an Oscar-nominated political drama based on a true story of the 1988 national plebiscite in Chile, in which Chileans were given an opportunity to decide whether Augusto Pinochet should extend his dictatorship.
With the focus on the ‘No’ campaign, this film explores the immense power of advertising and the role it plays in promoting resistance. We will invite Paulina Rabah Ramirez, the Latin American Culture and Language tutor, to present the film by giving historical and cultural context of the 80s Chile. 🎥🇨🇱
