Deadly Remains of War: Landmines and how to build towards a safer future together

May 16 @ 17:15 - 19:00

Mine Mark Foundation and the Europe Committee invite you to attend the event Deadly Remains of War: Landmines and how to build towards a safer future together. The ambassadors from Azerbaijan (Rahman Mustafayev), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Almir Šahović) and Ukraine (Oleksandr Karasevych) will present their views, as well as Lala van der Kolk, representative of Mine Mark Foundation. We hope to see you there!

The following is a brief introduction to the content of the event: landmines represent a silent and deadly threat, killing innocent civilians even after conflicts have ended. According to the Monitor, over 4,000 people have been injured or killed by landmines and explosive remnants of war (ERW) in 2022. Thus, the importance of this Mine Risk Education has grown significantly in recent times, as incidents involving mines and explosive devices have increased due to ongoing conflicts and fighting. The organizer of the event, NGO Mine Mark, has been dedicated to protecting children from the risks associated with mines and making them aware of various explosive devices they may encounter in their communities.
