BASIS Meditation Session

Are you stressed?
Do you feel like it is all too much?
Or do you just want to know more about Mindfulness practices?
There are several ways for you to improve your mental health, well-being and improve your focus. Meditation is one of them.
The Care Committee wants to invite you to their first Mindfulness Sessions. We will talk about the Foundations of Mindfulness, Basic Meditation techniques and subsequently, we will meditate together under the guidance of our certified Meditation Guide, Nicole Kadlec.
These Meditation Sessions are specifically designed to still and calm the mind and body using a range of techniques for you to take home and continue to practice in your own time.
The one-hour session, commencing at 6pm will include the following:
~ warming up body and mind with the help of some interactive mindful activities
~ Seated meditation and instruction on using the Nadi Shodana pranayama breathing technique to clear the mind.
~ Deep guided meditation lying down in corpse pose to relax the entire body using Yoga Nidra/Yogic Sleep techniques.
What to bring: if you have a yoga mat and/or pillow to sit on (A limited number of mats/pillows will be provided).
What to wear: Something comfortable that is appropriate for the weather and sitting/lying still for approximately 20-30 minutes.
