SUMMARY:Make it Work: Your Career in an EU institution
DESCRIPTION:This event is the third series of “Make it Work” events which aims to bridge the gap between the student environment and the professional one. This event in particular looks at different EU institutions both from professionals’ perspectives and interns’ ones and aims to provide an insight into their workings and how this can fit into future careers. Our speakers will give an introduction on the institution they are representing and on their career path\, which will be followed by a Q&A session and discussion led by Atse Fokkens from Leiden Career Service. \nHoping to see you there! \nBASIS Career Committee\nLeiden Career Service

SUMMARY:[CANCELLED] The Untold Story: Mental Health and Stress in the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nEDIT: Due to unforeseen circumstances\, the Career Committee regrets to say that we will no longer be able to host this event. Our apologies for those interested in attending and we hope to be able to host an event like this in the beginning of next academic year. \n  \n——– \n  \nThis event seeks to address important issues surrounding career development which are often overlooked when looking for the “next thing” to dig your teeth into. Finding a job\, transitioning from high school to university\, from university to a career or working whilst at university can be stressful. This event seeks to create an open discussion and workshop around issues of stress and mental health. This will not only provide a space for students to openly share their experiences of transition but to also educate themselves on what stress can do to your mental and physical health. \nThe workshop will be held by Sabine Fonderson\, medical director of online medical practice “Hello Doc”. \nRegistration means we will reserve a space for you\, that someone else cannot take; therefore\, please make sure you will be able to make it to the event or otherwise let us know timely. \n[Note] After you register\, we will send a preliminary questionnaire to your e-mail. This questionnaire will ask you to fill in your concerns as well as any specific topics you would like to be discussed\, and will allow us to make the workshop as interesting and fruitful as possible.
