SUMMARY:Make It Work: Your career in a NGO
DESCRIPTION:This event is the second series of “Make it Work” events whereby we aim to bridge the gap between being a student and the finding a job in the professional world. For this event we bring in both professionals working at an non-governmental organisation and students who have interned at NGOs. The speakers will have a chance to introduce themselves and their NGO\, which will be followed by a Q&A and discussion session led by Atse Fokkens from Leiden Career Service. This aims to provide students an insight into what it means to work for an NGO and how this can possibly fit in to their career paths in the future.

DESCRIPTION:In our first General Assembly of the year\, we invite all BASIS members to come together as we discuss the budget for the coming semester and vote in the new committee members! \nThe official agenda will be published soon\, so be sure to click ‘going’ to stay up to date! (an email will also be sent)  \nAfterwards we’ll all go to the borrel at Libertijn together for some well-deserved relaxing! \nWhat even is a GA? \nThe GA is an official gathering of the BASIS study association. As we are a legally registered entity\, it is compulsory for us to give members a financial overview of BASIS\, as well as\, what cool projects we have prepared for you this year! The GA is occasionally used to revise the legal statutes and policy manual. The statutes and policy manual basically stipulate the ‘rules’ of BASIS\, e.g. how many members a committee board can have\, how many events a committee should hold every year.  \nWhy should you attend? \nThe GA is the only occasion in which all BASIS students can unite. It is an opportunity to come together and discuss ideas\, concerns and suggestions for our study association. Do you want to understand what BASIS does? Do you want to know what we’re doing with your 20€ membership? Do you have ideas and projects of your own that you would like to present? All these questions will be addressed in our GA! \nAlso\, it’s a great occasion for you to meet the decision-makers of BASIS in person: the BASIS board and the committee heads.
