SUMMARY:General Assembly Numero Uno (#1)
DESCRIPTION:In our first General Assembly of the year\, we invite all BASIS members to come together as we discuss the budget for the coming semester and vote in the new committee members! \nThe official agenda will be published soon\, so be sure to click ‘going’ to stay up to date! (an email will also be sent)  \nAfterwards we’ll all go to the borrel at Libertijn together for some well-deserved relaxing! \nWhat even is a GA? \nThe GA is an official gathering of the BASIS study association. As we are a legally registered entity\, it is compulsory for us to give members a financial overview of BASIS\, as well as\, what cool projects we have prepared for you this year! The GA is occasionally used to revise the legal statutes and policy manual. The statutes and policy manual basically stipulate the ‘rules’ of BASIS\, e.g. how many members a committee board can have\, how many events a committee should hold every year.  \nWhy should you attend? \nThe GA is the only occasion in which all BASIS students can unite. It is an opportunity to come together and discuss ideas\, concerns and suggestions for our study association. Do you want to understand what BASIS does? Do you want to know what we’re doing with your 20€ membership? Do you have ideas and projects of your own that you would like to present? All these questions will be addressed in our GA! \nAlso\, it’s a great occasion for you to meet the decision-makers of BASIS in person: the BASIS board and the committee heads. Come talk to us if you have new ideas – we’re always open to creativity and motivation.  \nWe’re looking forward to see you the 25th! \n  \nAgenda \n1. Introduction to BASIS: What’s the Structure \n2. Advisory Board \n3. Voting In New Advisory Board Member: Maurice Kirschbaum\n4. Last Year’s Finances ft. Robbie\n5. Audit Committee Report\n6. Approve MUN as New Committee \n7. Budget for First Semester 2018-19\n8. Honorary Membership Reception\n9. Policy Manual Amendments * \n10. Voting In New Committee Members \n11. Speech ‘Engaged pedagogy: learning from vulnerability’ by Dr. M.G. Palacio Ludeña\n12. Upcoming events \n* We will make amendments to the Policy Manual (read the whole thing here: http://basisthehague.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/BASIS-policy-manual-2018.pdf\, or go to https://basisthehague.nl/about/). \nSpecifically we will make it easier for ‘sleeping’ committees to return to their former glory\, we will make an amendment to the refunds policy of membership fees in the light of the new two-year membership\, and we will be doing some polishing a.k.a. cleaning up outdated articles.
