We will be learning self-defence\, or Krav maga\, from one of our 3rd year I.S. students\, Nicolas van Dam.\nHe will teach us the basics of how to defend ourselves in any situation\, which are skills that everyone should know! \nThat’s why you should not let this opportunity pass you by! \nIt’s FREE!! \nThe lesson will be held in the Beehive student centre\, on the 2nd floor. \nDate: Friday 29. November 2019\nTime: 5-7pm \nYou don’t have to sign up anywhere\, all you need to do is show up. After popular demand and the success of last year’s event\, we are organizing a football tournament together with the representatives of the staff of our faculty. \nThe tournament will be 7v7 and held on Thursday\, the 25th of April at Sportpark Vredenburch: Julialaantje 15B\, 2282 NW Rijswijk. The first game will be played at 19.00 and the grand finale will be finished at around 21.00. However\, don’t make plans to leave immediately afterwards as we will have a Borrel with some free drinks for the winners!  \nWe’ve decided to change last year’s format by having mixed teams made up of students and your favourite tutors. So this will be the ultimate way to impress them by showing your tekkers! Or have you missed this amazing event and you’re still in for some surfing? Or maybe you think surfing is only for Summer? (Let me tell you in advance: you’re wrong! Please check out the movie ‘Under an Arctic Sky’\, and you’ll be convinced surfing in cold weather is a good idea!) Then we have some very good news for y’all! The BASIS Sports Committee is presenting a 3-lesson surfing package together with Hart Beach Scheveningen! \nThe dates will be: 02/03 – 09/03 – 16/03 (Saturday mornings) \nFirst round – Beginner lessons\n09:30 – 10:00 Gather at Hart Beach\n10:00 – 11:30 Beginner lessons\n11:30 – 12:00 Showers \nSecond round – Intermediate/advanced* lessons\n11:30 – 12:00 Gather at Hart Beach\n12:00 – 13:30 Intermediate/advanced* lessons\n13:30 – 14:00 Showers  \n*People who already attended the first event in November can sign up as intermediate if they wish to continue without the introduction. And of course\, anyone who has surfed before multiple times and feels like they don’t need an introduction can join the intermediate/advanced group as well. \nThe ticket will include:\n– A 3-lesson package ticket to attend the surf lessons on the 23rd of February\, 2nd of March and the last session on the 9th of March\n– Each lesson will be 1.5 hour\n– Instructor and gear (wetsuit\, shoes\, board) included\n– Important to note is that you buy a ticket for 3 Saturday morning lessons in a row\, if you miss one we cannot refund the money!!!! \nBUT you can give your ticket to a friend to improve your Karma points but please let us know his name by emailing us!  \nTickets will be sold online on the BASIS website\, and sales will start February 5\, at 15.00. Be quick\, as tickets are limited.  \nEarly bird tickets: €30\,- \nRegular tickets: €45\,-  \nVERY CHEAP!
