Black Lives Matter: The Future of Race Relations

September 28 @ 18:39

The North America Committee is delighted to host a lecture on “The Future of Race Relations” with Dr. Sara Polak of Leiden University and Dr. Simanique Moody of Brooklyn College CUNY!
The Black Lives Matter movement was established in 2015 but have seen a new wave in attention over the last summer in the wake of the death of George Floyd. Many of us are left with a lot of questions about topics such as racism, police brutality, and how to be an ally.
This lecture will consist of Dr. Polak and Dr. Moody each giving a 5-minute presentation pertaining to race relations in the United States. Then, 2 committee members will conduct a 20-30 minute interview. After this, there will be around 20 minutes of Q&A with the presenters.
The lecture will be hosted via Kaltura, a link will be posted shortly before the lecture begins on the Facebook event.
DISCLAIMER: This is an extremely important topic, and deserves respect. All questions are welcome, but must be respectful. Racism, sexism, xenophobia and hatred will not be tolerated.
