Our friends at B.I.L., the study association of Public Administration at Leiden, have made 20 spots available to their awesome masterclass organized with Amnesty International.
Ever since 1961 Amnesty International helps fight the abuse of human rights worldwide. In over 150 countries we fight for justice, freedom, human dignity and equality. But it’s getting harder and harder to stand up for human rights. More than ever human rights advocates face intimidation, smear campaigns, violence and imprisonment. New laws silence the human rights defenders, press freedom is restricted and every year more human rights defenders are being killed. Governments, armed groups and companies make that it gets harder and harder to express your opinion. We call this a shrinking space for civil society. Amnesty fights this alarming trend through her campaign.
In the Masterclass we shall give you an introduction about Amnesty’s international human rights work and on the basis of our campaign about human rights defenders we will dig deeper into the human rights situation worldwide. The masterclass will be a combination of a lecture and an interactive part.
