The BASIS Sports Committee promotes and provides sport for our international student body here at Leiden University, Campus The Hague.
Actively doing sports while you are a student here is an enjoyable and social way of participating in student life, in addition to being healthy and great for your body and mind. Playing football, volleyball or trying out the waves at the beach are perfect ways to disconnect from your studies for a little while, getting in some mental relaxation, while doing something active and productive!
As members of the BASIS Sports Committee, we will do our utmost to respond to the sport demand of our fellow students, as we will attempt to provide the sports you want to participate in. We will also provide sports related events. An example of such events would be the sports day we arranged in 2017 spring semester in collaboration with Reach & Teach, a student initiative working with refugees, which became a great success.
In previous years, we have had sports such as football (with teams for both women and men), basketball, hockey, volleyball, and our most recent addition, surfing.
Surfing has a separate group on Facebook, so if you are interested in that, you can join the group here.
We’re looking forward to seeing you this autumn, preferably at one of our practices or events!
